By: E&P Staff Mark L. Koors has been named vice president of audit and compliance for The E.W. Scripps Company. Since 2008 he has served as director of treasury management.
Koors, 46, began at Scripps in 1988 as an internal auditor, and was the audit manager from 1990 to 1992. He then served two years as the accounting manager for the cable division before those operations were sold to Comcast. Koors spent the next 14 years in the company's Financial Service Center, the last nine of which as its director.
He succeeds Mike Hales, who recently was named vice president of finance and administration for the company's newspaper division.
In Koors' new capacity, he will report to Bill Appleton, the company's senior vice president and general counsel.
