By: A Boscawen woman has been accused of embezzling money from the Concord Monitor.
Forty-four-year-old Lisa Grass, formerly the newspaper's senior accountant, was indicted yesterday on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking, which carries 7? to 15-year prison sentence. She was the paper's senior account from January 1999 to January 2004.
The indictment handed up by a Merrimack County grand jury alleges Grass stole the money over about three years.
Lawyers and newspaper officials declined to say how much money Grass is accused of taking, though Tom Brown, president of Newspapers of New England, the Monitor's parent company, called the figure "significant."
