By: E&P Staff Southern Lithoplate, Wake Forest, N.C., has named Josh Goodin as its research and development director.
A scientist at Ciba-Geigy and later at DuPont, Goodin's research on materials for the electronics industry, flexographic printing, and offset plates led him to join Creo in 1988, where he created an R&D group focused on consumables. Since 2003, Goodin has served as Lastra/Americas corporate R&D director.
"Josh brings years of hands-on lithoplate development, commercialization, and manufacturing expertise to his leadership role in product development," Southern Lithoplate CEO Edward A. Casson said in announcing Goodin's appointment.
The company also announced its fifth plant expansion in recent years, which Casson said was undertaken to assure capacity to meet increased demand for thermal plates.
