By: Staff Reports Site Will Provide Features, Resources For Publishers
Factiva, a joint venture of Dow Jones and Reuters, has launched a
portal for the providers of Factiva's business news and
information.
The Content Community portal provides publishers with tools, news, and
industry updates regarding electronic delivery of information.
For example, a recent story on the site covers XML and how sites
can adopt it for easier content delivery. The portal is available
to all publishers who provide content to Factiva, including 8,000
sources from 75 countries. Many newspapers provide content to the
service.
"With a myriad of different delivery options for publishers, the
Content Community portal meets the needs of Factiva's content
providers, giving them access to the information and tools they
need to maximize the value of their content distribution and
licensing arrangements," said Clare Hart, president and CEO of
Factiva.
Later this year, Factiva plans to add a password-protected area
to the Content Community so members can track the content quality
and delivery statistics of their articles, as well as their
royalty and usage information.
