By: E&P Staff Fayetteville Publishing Co. agreed to acquire IWANNA publications from Katherine Corn for an undisclosed sum. Cribb, Greene & Associates brokered the deal.

IWANNA publishes weeklies in Asheville, N.C. and Greenville, S.C. and free classified advertisements.

Fayetteville plans to operate the weeklies under the current management.

Corn founded the papers with her late husband Bobby in 1976. They decided to list free classifieds when they had to buy and sell furniture and other household items after several moves.

"We know that IWANNA has gained tremendous loyalty among its thousands of readers and advertisers in the communities it serves," Charles Broadwell, president and publisher of Fayetteville Publishing, said in a statement.

Fayetteville Publishing is a family-owned company and operator of The Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer.
