By: E&P Staff Alison Bechdel is temporarily reducing the frequency of her long-running "Dykes to Watch Out For" comic from one every two weeks to one every four weeks, reported
The Comics Journal blog today.
The reason, Bechdel explained, is a 2009 deadline for her next memoir -- "Love Life," from Houghton Mifflin. That book will be the follow-up to her critically acclaimed "Fun Home" graphic novel.
Bechel plans to do her self-syndicated feature at the reduced frequency for a year. During that time, she'll intersperse the new comics with strips from 1987.
