By: E&P Staff Every summer, we profile what we have long labeled "10 Newspapers That Do It Right." Never meant to be a "10 Best" list, it spotlights instead a select few papers that have earned a notable achievement in at least one particular area, carried out a successful innovation, or published an article that produced a major improvement or other response locally.
Last year we actively sought nominations from editors, publishers and even readers, for the first time. The response was so strong, with many valid entries, we are doing it again. The areas up for an "award" can cover almost anything: newsroom, marketing, online, advertising, photography, printing, circulation, social networking, workplace changes, "convergence" -- you (literally) name it.
Past winners have included every variety of large and small, daily and weekly, ethnic and alt.
To enter, send an e-mail to Editor Greg Mitchell at gmitchell@editorandpublisher.com, describing why you think you deserve this honor, along with (limited) attachments to bolster your case if you want. This does NOT need to be an email-busting submission. We'll get the idea, and perhaps contact you.
Please do it by June 12, and the earlier the better. The winners will be announced in our August issue and online.
