By: E&P Staff The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies has announced the finalists in its 12th annnual AltWeekly Awards competition. Of the 95 papers that entered the contest, 60 were honored in at least one category.
L.A. Weekly had the most finalist nods, placing in 13 different categories, the most in the history of the awards. Philadelphia Weekly-PW has seven finalists, and The Phoenix of Boston and Washington City Paper both were honored with six.
New categories added this year include awards for Ad Design, Blog, Website Content Feature and Website Design.
The order of the finalists in each category will be announced at AAN's annual convention in Portland next month.
