Financial Times Builds Up U.S. Staff Appointments

The Financial Times has made a number of strategic appointments to its US bureau, strengthening its award-winning coverage of the Americas.

The appointments in New York and Washington, DC follow the return of Gillian Tett as US managing editor, and include:

Megan Murphy has taken up the post of Washington bureau chief, leading the FT’s coverage of US politics and policy and the 2016 presidential election. She was previously head of fastFT, an award-winning, mobile-first product that provides global market-moving news and views 24-hours a day.

Robin Wigglesworth is appointed US markets editor, based in New York. He will oversee the FT’s coverage of US stocks, bonds, commodities, foreign exchange, derivatives and asset management. He is currently deputy head of fastFT.
