Ridding said the best thing a newspaper can do is to stay focused on a specific audience. For instance, the FT focuses on senior-level, decision making executives.

He acknowledged that the Wall Street Journal is one among many competitors, but didn't see it as much of a threat since there is so much competition in media anyway.
