The London-based Financial Times has launched an online press clipping service since the Newspaper Licensing Agency stopped issuing new licenses on July 1 for digital images and scans of FT stories.
Hosted on FT.com, where it allows users to search and view digital images of stories as they appeared in the paper, the service extends the FT's digital license to images of newspaper articles previously licensed by the NLA.
The FT said its content will be accessible through FT.com, media monitoring services, press clipping agencies and news-aggregation services.
Clippings will be part of FT.com's metering model, allowing registered users to access up to 10 articles per month at no cost, and unlimited access to articles through premium or corporate subscription.
