The Financial Times has pushed through a new year cover price rise of 30p to take the cost of the weekday newspaper to £2.50, meaning it costs readers 25% more than it did last October.

Pearson's financial daily has now raised the price of its weekday edition twice in two months – in October it increased the FT from £2 to £2.20 – making it £1.30 more expensive than the next highest priced quality dailies.
