'Financial Times' Signs Several Global Syndication Deals

By: E&P Staff The Financial Times has inked several syndication deals with publications in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

The Korean-based news magazine Financial Week is carrying up to 20 Financial Times articles a week, displayed on FT-branded pages. In Turkey, the business and finance magazine Ekonomist is translating up to four articles from FT's The Banker. And the Courier International, a weekly newspaper in Paris, is expanding its syndication deal with the Financial Times. The new terms allow the Courier International to use FT.com content for a newly funded online venture that will available in 10 different languages.

"We have more than 40 agreements around the world in 42 countries," said Sophie DeBrito, head of the Financial Times' media syndication. "It started as more of a European-based business but now its grown into all areas of the world."
