Fire Burns 'Tulsa World'

Posted
By: E&P Staff An electrical fire in the press room of the Tulsa World in Oklahoma stopped production of Sunday?s paper early this morning, said Executive Editor Joe Worley, according to an article at the Web site for The Oklahoman newspaper.

Workers had not yet determined what sparked the fire, he said. No one was injured. ?We're hopeful we'll be able to publish the Sunday paper and deliver it with the Monday paper,? Worley said, according to the article. But as of of early Sunday afternoon, the presses were not yet up and running.

About 60,000 full copies of the newspaper had been printed before the fire and those were distributed to subscribers, Worley said, while remaining subscribers received a partial paper.

The World?s stories for Sunday are all available at www.tulsaworld.com.
