Fire Destroys Offices of Oklahoma Newspaper

By: A fire has destroyed two buildings in downtown Anadarko, including the office of the city's daily newspaper.

Anadarko police say the blaze was reported about 5 a.m. Saturday and destroyed the Anadarko Daily News office and the Tornado Alley Bar.

No injuries were reported, and it took crews more than three hours to put out the flames.

A cause of the fire has not been determined, and the state fire marshal has been called in to investigate.

Newspaper editor Carolyn McBride says the business has been in her family since 1937. She says she plans to set up shop in a nearby art gallery until the newspaper office is rebuilt.
