Fla. Cartoonist Bill Kitchen Dies at Age 78

By: E&P Staff Bill Kitchen, who did cartoons for The Miami Herald for several decades, died last Wednesday of pancreatic cancer. He was 78.

A Herald obituary noted that Kitchen was best known for illustrating the paper's news stories and "Action Line" feature.

Kitchen started at the Herald in 1960 and retired in 1985, but continued to freelance until 2000. He moved to Lakeland, Fla., in 1988, and freelanced for The Lakeland Ledger until last year.

In the 1950s, Kitchen worked for The Herald-Dispatch of Huntington, W.V.
