By: E&P Staff Day International Inc. announced yesterday that it is in talks with The Flint Group concerning the latter's possible purchase of the company.
Headquartered in Luxembourg, with U.S. offices in Plymouth, Mich., privately held Flint Group arose from the 2005 merger of Flint Ink, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Europe's Xsys Print Solutions. The $2.3 billion company supplies the printing, converting, and colorant industries from 140 facilities.
Also privately owned, Dayton, Ohio-based Day supplies printing blankets and sleeves, image-transfer media and pressroom chemicals. Day, one of the Dayton area's 20 largest companies, reported 2005 revenue of $366 million and has 1,475 employees, including 35 in Dayton, according to Dayton Business Journal research.
Day and Flint said they plan no comment about their discussions until an agreement is reached the discussions end.
