By: E&P Staff Flint Group, Ann Arbor, Mich., will close is pigments business in Holland Township, Mich., on Jan. 5, the company reported Saturday.
The location has been an ink and pigments plant under different names for 90 years. Ten of its 80 workers will be absorbed by the separate Flint Ink division, The Grand Rapids Press reported. The same site also has made inks for commercial and package printing since 2002 and will continue to do so, according to Flint.
Flint plans to switch production to its plants in Cincinnati and Kentucky. "Our biggest customer is our own company," Plant Manager Don Decker told the Press.
