Flint Ink Creates Color-management Company

Posted
By: E&P Staff Flint Ink Corp. has launched Progressive Color Media LLC, which it said will provide "a full range of workflow color management solutions integrating hardware, software and services." The new enterprise, fully funded by Flint, will partner with color-management software and hardware providers to offer a wide selection of products and services.

Initially targeting the North American market from its Ann Arbor, Mich., headquarters, Progressive Color Media will take advantage of the market presence, partnerships, research facility and printing resources of Flint, the largest privately owned ink marker.

According to Flint, the new company's services "will enable printers, graphic designers, publishers and brand owners to achieve fast and accurate color reproduction, increase efficiencies and improve brand integrity."

Rather than what it describes as the current focus on discrete solutions for specific production stages, Progressive Color Media's services "integrate and synchronize people, processes and technologies to optimize the full benefits of color management." The company will offer baseline assessment, solution development and design, implementation and ongoing support, advising customers on software and hardware selection and optimizing use of existing equipment.

Progressive Color Media President Diane Watt was vice president of the Emerging Business Segments group at Flint, where she has held other management positions. Sales and Services Director Daniel Goodenow has 10 years' experience in electronic imaging and printing, including stints in management at Enovation Graphic Systems and Precision Color. Product Development Director Fay Sommer's 25 years in the printing industry includes an extensive research and development, with expertise in digital imaging, prepress and print optimization.
