Florida Weekly Launches Third Paper in Charlotte County

By: E&P Staff Florida Weekly has announced the launch of Punta Gorda Florida Weekly, its third newspaper in Charlotte County, Fla.

Punta Gorda Florida Weekly will debut July 2, and publish in a similar format to its sister papers in Fort Myers and Naples.

?We are very exited to bring our concept to the Charlotte County,? Florida Media Group President and Publisher Pason Gaddis said in a statement. ?Post Hurricane Charlie, the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda market has recovered as a vibrant thriving community.?

Michelle Noga will serve as the new weekly's publisher, while Kathy Grey has been named editor. In all, Punta Gorda Florida Weekly will employ 12 people.

Headquartered in Fort Myers, Fla., Florida Weekly is owned by Florida Media Group LLC and is the largest circulating weekly in Southwest Florida, reaching more than 100,000 readers in print and online each week.
