FMI Buys Phenix City, Ala. Weekly

By: E&P Staff Crescent Media Group sold its weekly paper in Phenix City, Ala., to Oklahoma-based Family Media Inc., (FMI).

Terms of the transaction, brokered by Cribb, Greene, & Associates, were not disclosed.

Crescent Media owner Andrew Babb said in a statement the sale came about because the company wants to focus on larger markets.

Crescent Media and its affiliated company Mid-South Management Co. publish 18 newspapers and magazines across the Southeast.

FMI publishes papers in Florida and Mississippi.
