By: E&P Staff "Peanuts" creator Charles M. Schulz finished second -- behind only Elvis Presley -- in Forbes magazine's annual list of the "top-earning dead celebrities."
Revenue from licensed products, "Peanuts" reruns syndicated by United Media, and other sources earned the Schulz estate about $35 million during the past year.
Schulz died in 2000 at the age of 77.
Presley's estate pulled in about $45 million for first place. Finishing third through 13th were John Lennon, Andy Warhol, Dr. Seuss (who was briefly an editorial cartoonist), Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, J.R.R. Tolkien, George Harrison, Johnny Cash, Irving Berlin, Bob Marley, and Ray Charles.
