Force Used Against Reporter 'Proper and Necessary,' Police Chief Says

Detroit police determined that the force used by two officers against a WJBK-TV reporter last month was “proper and necessary,” Police Chief James Craig said today.

Fox 2 reporter M.L. Elrick reported last month that, while outside of a city council meeting being held in a church on Jan. 28, he was pushed by a police sergeant when he tried to approach council President Pro Tem George Cushingberry Jr. Another officer was also involved.
