Forced-Out U.S. Attorney Lands at Getty Images as Senior VP/General Counsel

By: E&P Staff One of the U.S. Attorneys pushed out by the Bush administration for allegedly political reasons has been named senior vice president and general counsel of Getty Images, the photo agency announced this afternoon.

He's John McKay, who was U.S. Attorney for Western Washington from 2001 until early this year. He reportedly had angered some GOP officials by declining to intervene in the state's disputed gubernatorial election.

McKay has also worked as a litigation partner at a Seattle law firm and served as a White House Fellow. Since leaving the Justice Department, he has been a visiting professor at the Seattle University School of Law.

Getty Images? current general counsel, Jeff Beyle, is moving into the role of senior vice president, business development for the company -- whose photo clients include newspapers.
