(AP) Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist Hank Klibanoff has been named a journalism professor at Emory University.
A former editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Philadelphia Inquirer, Klibanoff won a Pulitzer in 2007 for his book "The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation." He's head of the Civil Rights Cold Case Project, which investigates unsolved racial killings in the South.
His professorship is endowed by the James M. Cox Foundation, which started a fund in 1996 to revive Emory's journalism program.
Klibanoff is also the chairman of VOX Teen Communication, an after-school journalism program where Atlanta-area high school students publish a website and monthly newspaper.
