Former Bay Guardian Editor Tim Redmond Launching Left-Wing Nonprofit News Site

Tim Redmond, the longtime editor and "voice" of the San Francisco Bay Guardian, says he's launching a nonprofit news site with a distinctly left-wing perspective.

Redmond's plans for the new San Francisco Progressive Media Center were outlined Tuesday in the Bay Guardian. He left his longtime gig there in June, after three decades with the alternative weekly, after tussling with new boss Todd Vogt and San Francisco Print Media Co., which bought the Guardian last year.
