By: E&P Staff "Doomed by Cartoon: How Cartoonist Thomas Nast and The New York Times Brought Down Boss Tweed and His Ring of Thieves" has been released by Morgan James Publishing.
The book is by John Adler "with" Draper Hill -- the latter a former Detroit News editorial cartoonist and former Association of American Editorial Cartoonists president.
Adler is a retired management consultant and entrepreneur who has spent 12 years studying the 2,200-plus cartoons that Thomas Nast drew for Harper?s Weekly between 1862 and 1886.
The book contains more than 160 of those drawings by Nast, who's considered the father of modern political cartooning.
