Former Hostage, Terry Anderson of AP, Back In Beirut, Teaching Journalism

By: Joe Strupp Former Associated Press Beirut Bureau Chief Terry Anderson, who spent nearly seven years as a hostage in Lebanon before being released in 1991, is back in that country.

Magda Abu-Fadil, director of journalism training at the American University of Beirut, writes at Huffington Post about Anderson's latest stint teaching American students on her campus about covering the Middle East.

"We have to make sure the labels we use are accurate," he told Abu-Fadil in an interview. "You cannot see mention of Islam in the United States without a connection with terrorism or fundamentalists."
