Frederick, Md., Paper To Publish 1st Sunday Edition

Posted
By: Jim Rosenberg Oct. 13 will see The Frederick (Md.) News-Post's first Sunday edition. The next morning, readers will receive a redesigned, 12 3/4-inch-wide paper reformatted with new daily sections and "a complete revamp" of typography, said Operations Director Bob Clay.

To its five-unit 1967 Goss Urbanite press (with three-color unit) the paper added two rebuilt units from Inland Newspaper Machinery Corp. "The two color units gave us the ability to have color on the front and back of each section every day," said Clay. Before, color inside meant none on the cover.

After 119 years, the paper remains in the hands of its founder's descendants.
