By: E&P Staff A new free daily will be launched in Manchester, N.H. on Monday, according to a press release from its publisher, Jody Reese.

"The Manchester Daily Express will be published each
morning Monday through Friday, bringing readers local, state, national, and world news in a concise, easy-to-read format," the statement reveals. "The paper's staff includes an editor, two full-time reporters, and several support staffers. The Daily Express will be available free at hundreds of Manchester locations and will also be distributed by street hawkers." The paper's initial pressrun is 3,000 copies.

"The time is right for the Manchester Daily Express, and not just because people's reading habits have changed," Reese said in the statement. "Ever since the Union Leader closed its afternoon city edition in the 1980s and turned its
attention to statewide coverage, Manchester residents have had to make do with what really amounts to a part-time local daily?a newspaper with many other things on its mind than the Queen City. No more.... Manchester is once again a competitive news market."

The Manchester Daily Express is published by the team behind HippoPress, a weekly newspaper launched in 2001 and now the state's largest, according to the press release.
