By: E&P Staff Freedom Communications picked Publishing Business Systems' PBS MediaPlus Circulation system to manage circulation at all its dailies, the Minneapolis-based newspaper business software systems maker announced Tuesday.
Freedom began integration of MediaPlus Circulation with the recent launch of OC Post, its quick-read compact daily.
MediaPlus Circulation is being installed at all 28 Freedom daily papers? including the flagship Orange County Register in Santa Ana, Calif. Installation across the chain is expected to be complete in mid-2008, PBS said.
In a prepared statement, Register Vice President/Circulation Larry Riley said MediaPlus Circulation contributed to the quick launch of OC Post.
"We're using the Targeted Marketing feature within MediaPlus Circulation to help us choose samples based on specific demographics and build our paid subscriber base," Riley said. "We're also using the Postalsoft address cleansing capabilities in MediaPlus Circulation to help ensure the integrity of our data."
PBS President Ron Bernier said the OC Post was the first time a newspaper launched using the MediaPlus Circulation system.
MediaPlus Circulation? which is available with Oracle or Progress database compatibility? is being installed on Progress for Freedom, PBS said.
