Freedom Communications Selects Southern LIthoplate

Freedom Communications, Irvine, Calif., has selected Southern Lithoplate, Wake Forest, N.C., to upgrade its prepress digital solutions for newspaper and commercial print production.

Freedom's recently completed, six-month conversion resulted in Southern Lithoplate's Viper 830, Cobra 830, and Tiger V plates as the choice for computer-to-plate consumables.

Southern Lithoplate said it assembled site-specific systems and equipment packages for fully integrated production lines using thermal and violet CTP solutions.

"Our partnership with Southern Lithoplate has contributed to a significant reduction in our ongoing prepress and press cost structure," Freedom Chief Operating and Financial Officer Mark McEachen said in a statement that also cited Southern Lithoplate's expertise and service.
