Freedom Communications Sells TV Stations

Freedom Communications Inc. in Irvine announced Monday that it completed the sale of its eight television stations to Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. in a $385 million deal that will leave Freedom free of debt. Freedom owns The Orange County Register.

Sinclair has been providing management services for the stations through a local marketing agreement since Dec. 1. A final order from the Federal Communications Commission approving the deal is expected by the end of the month.
