'FT' Encourages Employees to Take 3-Day Weekends

By: E&P Staff The Financial Times is asking employees to consider taking three-day weekends in an effort to trim costs.

That is one option that the FT is offering this summer, according to a story in The Guardian. Employees are also able to buy an additional seven days leave and to extend annual leave at 30% pay.

The move is voluntary and affects the FT's offices worldwide.

"We believe this is a creative way to help the company reduce costs and retain talent, whilst giving employees the opportunity to take more time off," Aimee Watson, human resource manger at the FT, told the Guardian's Mark Sweney.
