'FT' Makes Several U.S. Editorial Appointments

By: E&P Staff The Financial Times announced several new editorial appointments to its U.S. team in the coverage areas of business, finance and markets. The newly named correspondents report to Francesco Guerrera, U.S. finance and business editor.

Mara Der Hovanesian joins as fund manager correspondent covering hedge funds, mutual funds and pension funds. She comes to the FT from BusinessWeeek where she served in several senior editorial roles.

Suzanne Kemper will become the banking and insurance correspondent, covering regional banks, insurers and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with an eye on the credit card and mortgage markets. She most recently was at Fortune and has worked at the New York Post and The New York Times.

Jeremy Lemer has been named U.S. business correspondent, covering airlines, industrial companies and broader trends. He was previously a FT reporter based in London.

Lemer replaces Justin Baer, who has been appointed Wall Street correspondent covering investment banks and large banks. Baer succeeds Greg Farrell who will become U.S. consumer industries correspondent.

Telis Demos joins the FT as web editor, reporting to Darren Dodd, deputy U.S. news editor. Demos was most recently a writer at Fortune.
