By: E&P Staff Steven Boas, publisher of The News-Sentinel in Fort Wayne, Ind., and CEO of Fort Wayne Newspapers, resigned today.
According to the paper, his tenure is up at the end of the month.
Boas took the job in January succeeding Mary Jacobus, who left for The Boston Globe. Prior to the News-Sentinel, Boas, 44, was vice president of advertising at the Kansas City Star.
In March, Knight Ridder, the parent company of the paper and a partner in the joint operating agreement with The Journal Gazette, was sold to McClatchy. McClatchy then put the News-Sentinel, along with 11 other Knight Ridder papers, on the block. Ogden Newspapers purchased the News-Sentinel in June for $92.6 million.
Representatives with Ogden said they planned to name a new publisher soon.
