'FT Weekend' Appoints New Editor

By: E&P Staff The Financial Times has appointed Caroline Daniel as editor of FT Weekend. Daniel, who begins her new duties June 1, most recently was the FT's assistant editor, and will continue in that capacity.

Before joining the Financial Times in 1999, Daniel was a features writer and reporter for the New Statesman, a reporter for the Economist, and a political researcher for Gordon Brown, the then-UK Chancellor of the Exchequer.

At the FT, she has served as comment and analysis editor and White House correspondent. She has also been the newspaper?s correspondent in Chicago and was its IT correspondent during the rise of the dot-coms.

In 1998 Daniel won the Laurence Stern Fellowship, and subsequently spent four months reporting for The Washington Post.
