FTC Gives Valassis/ADVO Acquisition Green Light

By: E&P Staff The Federal Trade Commission has cleared the way for Valassis' acquisition of ADVO by granting "early termination of the waiting period" under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.

In July, Valassis announced it would acquire ADVO subject to the approval of ADVO shareholders. An ADVO shareholder meeting is scheduled on Sept. 13.
