By: E&P Staff Gannett Digital has announced the appointment of three new executives for its online operations. Daniel Donaghy has been named senior vice president of Sales, Peter Lundquist will be the new vice president of Content and Product Development, and Matthew Jones will become director of Mobile Strategy and Operations.
Donaghy has been with Gannett Co. since 2003 when he was named director/Online Classified Sales. Most recently, he was vice president of Sales and Marketing for Gannett?s Newspaper Division. Prior to joining Gannett, he was senior vice president of Corporate Development for Classified Ventures. He also served in several management positions for at The New York Times Company including SVP of Sales and Marketing for The New York Times Electronic Media Company.
Lundquist, now vice president of Content and Product Development, most recently held the same title with Gannett?s Newspaper Division. His newspaper career began as a reporter for the Lawrence (Kan.) Journal-World and went on to become Web editor for the paper in 1995. In 1996, he became online manager for Gannett-owned The Des Moines (Iowa) Register, and later became the paper?s online director. In 1999 he joined Gannett?s corporate staff as director/Online Content.
Jones was formerly the director of Mobile Products for USATODAY.com, where he began in 1998 as Sales Planning Coordinator. He served in several positions for USATODAY.com including Alliance manager, Product Development and CRM Implementation manager, senior marketing manager, and director of Mobile Products.
