Gannett Moving Advocate Printing to Columbus, Eliminating 74 Jobs

NEWARK — Gannett Publishing Services will cease printing operations at The Advocate’s plant downtown during 2014, the company told employees Thursday.

All production work for The Advocate and numerous other daily and weekly newspapers, including USA Today, and specialty publications instead will be handled by The Dispatch Printing Co. at its facility in Columbus. There are no plans to change the format of The Advocate or other Media Network of Central Ohio newspapers, however the newsprint will be slightly narrower.
