By: E&P Staff Gannett has named Richard Ramhoff president and publisher of the Livingston County (Mich.) Daily Press & Argus.
Previously, Ramhoff was editor and general manager of NOISE, a weekly youth publication in Lansing, Mich.
"From a traditional perspective, Rich Ramhoff has taken a bit of an usual journey to the publisher's position," Gary Watson, president of the newspaper division at Gannett, said in a statement. "But with the growing importance of the Web and non-daily publications in the newspaper brand's portfolio, we're confident he will not be the last to gain experience in all three areas before becoming publisher."
Ramhoff began his career with Gannett as a reporter at the Rockford (Ill.) Register Star, where he later served as business editor and online manager. He then moved to Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers, where he launched a regional Web site that included 10 newspaper titles.
Richard Perlberg, who had been the editor and general manager of the Daily Press & Argus, which was acquired by Gannett earlier this year, will become executive editor.
