Gannett Names Nutt, Gandhi to Executive Positions in N.J.

By: E&P Staff Charles W. Nutt, formerly president and publisher of The Courier News in Bridgewater, N.J., has been named president and publisher of The Daily Journal in Vineland, N.J.

Nutt is returning to Vineland, where he was editor, then president, publisher and editor, from 1998 to 2000.

Nutt began his career as a reporter at the Bridgewater paper in 1972 after graduation from Syracuse University where he received a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Journalism. He worked at Bridgewater through 1979 before leaving to work at the New York Times and The Express in Easton, Pa.

Replacing Nutt as publisher in Bridgewater is Ketan Gandhi. Gandhi joined Gannett in 1986 as accounting manager at the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum, Pa., then owned by Gannett. He became controller in Elmira, then controller and director of finance at a non-Gannett newspaper in Pennsylvania. He returned to Gannett in 1996 as controller at the Press & Sun Bulletin in Binghamton, N.Y.
