Gannett Names Saridakis Its Chief Digital Officer

By: Gannett Co., the largest newspaper publisher in the country and owner of USA Today, on Monday named PointRoll Inc. Chief Executive Chris Saridakis senior vice president and chief digital officer, a newly created position.

Media company PointRoll is a Gannett unit.

Saridakis, 39, will be tasked with expanding Gannett's digital operations and will serve as a member of the company's management committee.

Jason Tafler will succeed Saridakis as PointRoll CEO. He currently serves as the company's senior vice president of global business operations and strategy.

Gannett also named Jack Williams president of digital ventures, which is responsible for online classified companies and other diversified businesses.

Saridakis and Williams will report to Gannett Chairman, President and CEO Craig Dubow. Williams will continue to serve on the company's management committee.
