Gannett Wisconsin Dailies Do Editorial Shuffle

By: E&P Staff Mike Knuth has been named general manager/executive editor of The Sheboygan (Wis.) Press. He succeeds Richard Roesgen, who on Wednesday was named to the same position at the Fond du Lac Reporter.

Knuth's appointment was announced by Genia Lovett, president and publisher of the Appleton (Wis.) Post-Crescent and vice president of Gannett Wisconsin Media.

Knuth had served as executive editor of the Press for 10 years prior to Wednesday's appointment. He had previously been a sports reporter and sports editor at the paper, which he joined in 1990.

Roesgen had served as news editor, managing editor and then publisher at the Fond du Lac Reporter over a period of employment from 1991 to 2000, when he was named publisher of The Sheboygan Press. He succeeds former president and publisher Bill Hackney and former executive editor Avi Stern, as the Gannett Company continues to restructure operations at its newspapers in Wisconsin.
