Gardening Columnist Abraham Dies at 89

By: E&P Staff George "Doc" Abraham, who co-wrote a gardening column that ran in 130 newspapers during its heyday, died Jan. 27 in Canandaigua, N.Y., at the age of 89.

Abraham did the syndicated feature with his wife Katy -- with whom he also co-authored 16 books, co-hosted a gardening radio show for a half century (from 1952 to 2002), and ran a greenhouse business.
