By: E&P Staff Garry Trudeau will be one of the authors honored Thursday at the Ken Book Awards breakfast in New York City, according to Universal Press Syndicate.
The "Doonesbury" cartoonist is being cited for "The War Within: One More Step at a Time" (Andrews McMeel Publishing, 2006) -- his second comic collection chronicling the B.D. character's struggles after losing a leg in Iraq.
Trudeau and five other authors were selected for the Ken Book prize "based on their outstanding literary contributions to a better understanding of mental illness."
