By: E&P Staff GateHouse Media acquired Ad Group WC from John Van Dusen. The purchase includes the Newark, N.Y. Pennysaver, the weekly Courier-Gazette newspaper, as well as the New York-based Sodus-Williamson Pennysaver and Lyons-Clyde Savannah Shopping Guide.
Terms of the deal, brokered by Cribb, Greene & Associates, were not disclosed.
"I have had the privilege of working with dedicated and talented people, of whom I am very proud," Van Dusen said in a statement. "GateHouse's dedication to community publishing will provide these people with added tools and invigorating resources to support local publishing in Wayne County."
The Van Dusen family operated the publications for three generations.
