GateHouse Buys Arkansas Weekly

By: E&P Staff GateHouse Media has bought the White Hall (Ark.) Journal, a weekly in a fast-growing community south of Little Rock, newspaper broker Ted Rickenbacher said Wednesday.

His Dallas-based mergers and acquisitions firm Rickenbacher Media represented the sellers, Frank Lightfoot and his family.

Lightfoot and family had owned the 2,450-paid circulation weekly since 1989.

In Arkansas, the acquisitive Fairport, N.Y.-based GateHouse already owns dailies in Arkadelphia, Helena, Hope, and Stuttgart, and weeklies in Gurdon, Heber Springs, Newport, and Prescott.
