GateHouse Media Sues Times Co.'s Boston.com

By: E&P Staff GateHouse Media filed a lawsuit Monday accusing Boston.com, the Boston Globe Web site owned by New York Times Co., of copyright and trademark infringement, unfair competition and other misdeeds.

The lawsuit accused Boston.com of publishing content about the town of Newton taken from GateHouse newspapers and Web sites, the Newton TAB and wickedlocal.com.

The lawsuit was reported first on the Boston Herald's Web site. Lawyers for the parties in the lawsuit could not be reached for comment.

According to the Herald, GateHouse also alleges "false designation of origin," false advertising, trademark dilution, unfair business practices and breach of contract.
