Glasser Named 'Wash Post' Managing Editor for National News

By: E&P Staff The Washington Post has promoted Susan B. Glasser, editor of the paper?s Outlook section, to assistant managing editor for national news.

Glasser joined the Post in 1998 as deputy national editor for investigations, leading the paper's coverage of the Monica Lewinsky investigation and the impeachment of President Clinton. Since then, she has served as a reporter for the national desk, and also as co-bureau chief in Moscow for four years.

Prior to working at the Post, Glasser was editor of Roll Call in Washington, D.C., a newspaper that covers Congressional news.

In her new role, Glasser will direct the Post's coverage of governmental affairs, national security, American politics, and science and environment. She will also manage the paper's seven news bureaus across the United States.

Glasser will begin at her new position on Dec. 4. She replaces Liz Spayd who has been named editor of washingtonpost.com.
